Sometimes, the best way to explore a region is to get out there on foot and take a walk around. There are numerous designated walking routes in the Costa Blanca area that you can take advantage of. We’re lucky enough to have one of these right on our doorstep, meaning no driving required, though it might be a little tough for some. Just ask us for advice and we’ll point you in the direction of a walk for your family.
At the end of our drive we have a designated walking route. The official route is said by the town hall to be over 13km but guiding you from the chapel in Algayat, our own little hamlet, up the mountain and down towards La Romana. The route winds through the pine forest and down the rambla taking in some beautiful views and offers great photo opportunities. The route takes a loop around La Romana so if you take this out plus the fact we are higher up the mountain than the chapel we think the route to be nearer 10km one way, don’t forget you have to walk back too! The route is designated medium to high difficulty. The route is available to view on the La Romana town hall website. It is in Spanish but there is an actual map to view.
